Terms of Service
Effective 8 October 2026. By using HereWhen (the app and getherewhen.com) you agree to these terms.
The service
HereWhen is a companion app with AI characters, interactive stories and games. Characters are AI, not real people. HereWhen is for entertainment and companionship. It is not medical, mental-health, legal or financial advice and is not a substitute for professional care. If you are in danger or crisis, contact your local emergency number or a crisis line.
Your account
- You must be 18 or older to use HereWhen.
- Keep your sign-in details private. You are responsible for activity on your account.
- Give accurate information and use the service lawfully.
Acceptable use
Do not misuse the service: no attempts to break, overload or reverse-engineer it, no harassment or illegal content, and no resale or automated scraping.
Memberships and payments
- Paid plans (for example the HereWhen Originals Membership, $6.99 per month) renew every month until you cancel.
- Payments are processed by Stripe, PayPal or Razorpay. Your statement shows HEREWHEN.
- You can cancel at any time. Your access continues until the end of the period you have paid for.
- Prices may change with advance notice; the new price applies from your next renewal.
- Taxes such as VAT or GST may apply depending on where you live.

Content and ownership
HereWhen's stories, characters, artwork and software belong to us or our licensors. We give you a personal, non-transferable licence to use them in the app. You keep ownership of what you write, and you allow us to process it to provide the service to you.
Protecting our work
The HereWhen name, logo, companion characters and their personalities, artwork, voices, stories and episodes, game designs, text, features, software and the way they are put together belong to HereWhen and are protected by copyright, trademark and other laws. You agree not to copy, scrape, record, reproduce, resell, translate or build a competing product from them, or to train or fine-tune any AI model on them, without our written permission. Do not use our name, logo or characters in a way that suggests a connection with HereWhen. Reviewing the service for testing or feedback does not give you any right to use or publish what you saw, and you agree to keep unreleased features private unless we say otherwise.
If you copy or misuse our work, we may suspend your account without refund and take legal action, including seeking damages and an order to stop. To ask for permission, or to report a copy, write to legal@getherewhen.com.
Availability and liability
We work to keep HereWhen available, but it is provided "as is" and may change or be interrupted. To the extent the law allows, we are not liable for indirect or consequential losses, and our total liability for any claim is limited to the amount you paid us in the 3 months before the claim.
Ending use
You may stop using HereWhen at any time. We may suspend accounts that break these terms.
Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of India, and courts in India have jurisdiction, without limiting any consumer rights you have under the law where you live.
